Learn How Earth Care – Rent A Tech Works Before You Get Started

Earth Care Orientation is designed to help prospective pros understand the Earth Care – Rent A Tech platform, how opportunities work, what resources are available, and what to expect before deciding whether to move forward.

During orientation, you can learn about the platform, review opportunities, see examples of available work, understand important terms and expectations, receive your Earth Care Pro ID number, and learn what your next steps are.

Our goal is simple: we want you to understand what Earth Care is and how it works before you decide whether it is the right fit for you.

How Do I Access Earth Care Orientation?

The first step is to apply to become an Earth Care Pro.

You can begin your application here:

www.rentatech.org/app

The application only takes a few minutes to complete.

Once you apply and continue through the process, you will be directed through orientation, where you can learn more about Earth Care, your opportunities, the platform, and the steps required to get started.

What Is Earth Care Orientation?

Orientation is the introductory portion of the Earth Care onboarding process.

Rather than asking applicants to make a decision without understanding the platform, orientation gives prospective pros an opportunity to learn how Earth Care operates.

You can learn about:

  • What Earth Care – Rent A Tech is

  • How the platform works

  • How independent work opportunities work

  • The types of jobs that may become available

  • How pros find and access opportunities

  • What is included with the Earth Care platform

  • Training and professional resources

  • Worker tools and resources

  • Earth Care first-party opportunities

  • Independent and third-party opportunity sources

  • How payments and client relationships work

  • Important platform terms and expectations

  • What is expected of Earth Care pros

  • How to move forward if you decide Earth Care is right for you

Orientation is designed to give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

Get Your Earth Care Pro ID Number

One important part of orientation is receiving your Earth Care Pro ID number.

Your Pro ID identifies you within the Earth Care system and is part of your onboarding process.

We recommend saving your Pro ID after it is issued so you can reference it later as you continue through the platform.

Your orientation page will explain what to do next after receiving your Pro ID.

Learn About Work Opportunities

One of the biggest questions applicants have is:

What kind of work can I find through Earth Care?

Orientation helps answer that question.

Depending on your skills, categories, geographic area, client demand, and availability, opportunities may include work related to:

  • Handyman services

  • Property maintenance

  • General labor

  • Cleaning

  • Furniture assembly

  • Painting

  • Plumbing-related services

  • Electrical-related services

  • Appliance services

  • Moving and delivery assistance

  • Repairs

  • Installation work

  • Home services

  • Maintenance projects

  • Other skilled and general service categories

Opportunity availability varies by location and over time.

Earth Care does not guarantee that a specific job or number of jobs will always be available.

See Examples of Jobs

Orientation can also give applicants an opportunity to explore examples of the types of work that may appear on the platform.

This helps you get a better understanding of:

  • Common project types

  • Different service categories

  • Typical job sizes

  • The type of information provided about opportunities

  • How opportunities may be presented

  • Whether the work matches your skills and interests

Job availability changes regularly, so individual opportunities are subject to change.

The purpose of reviewing jobs during orientation is to help you better understand the type of marketplace you are considering joining.

Learn How Earth Care Works

Earth Care – Rent A Tech is designed to connect independent service professionals with resources and opportunities that can help them find work.

Orientation explains the relationship between the pro, Earth Care, and the customer so that applicants understand how the platform operates.

You will learn more about topics such as:

  • Working as an independent professional

  • How opportunities are presented

  • Communicating with clients

  • Accessing Earth Care resources

  • Finding additional opportunities independently

  • Using tools provided through the platform

  • Getting assistance when you have questions

  • Your responsibilities as a pro

Understanding how the system works before joining can help prevent confusion later.

Learn What Is Included With Earth Care

Earth Care is more than a place to view individual work opportunities.

Activated pros receive access to a collection of resources designed to help independent service professionals find work and operate more professionally.

During orientation, you can learn about resources such as:

  • Earth Care first-party work opportunities

  • Independent worker boards

  • S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and certification resources

  • The Earth Care Workers Center

  • Professional tools and templates

  • Professional profile resources

  • Worker networking groups

  • Job-search resources

  • Platform guidance

  • U.S.-based phone support

Orientation helps explain what these resources are so you know what you are receiving before deciding whether to continue.

Understand the Terms Before You Move Forward

Orientation is also where applicants can learn important information about the terms and structure of the platform.

We believe you should understand how something works before paying to access it.

Orientation is intended to explain important subjects such as:

  • Your relationship with Earth Care

  • Independent contractor expectations

  • Opportunity availability

  • How jobs are accessed

  • How the platform is used

  • What Earth Care provides

  • What Earth Care does not provide

  • Fee associated with joining

  • Professional expectations

  • Requirements for participating

  • Important platform policies

Applicants should review the information provided during orientation before deciding whether to continue.

Decide Whether Earth Care Is Right for You

Orientation isn't only about explaining how to join.

It is also about helping you decide whether you should join at all.

Earth Care may be a good fit for people who have service experience and want additional ways to locate independent work while having access to professional tools, training, support, and opportunity resources.

However, every person's situation is different.

By completing orientation first, you can review the platform, learn how it works, understand the terms, explore opportunities, and decide whether Earth Care makes sense for you.

There is no reason to move forward with something you don't understand or that doesn't fit what you're looking for.

What Happens After Orientation?

After reviewing orientation, you will understand the next steps available to you.

If you determine that Earth Care is a good fit, you can continue with the onboarding and activation process.

Your next steps may include:

  1. Completing your application

  2. Receiving your Earth Care Pro ID

  3. Reviewing orientation

  4. Learning about the platform and available resources

  5. Reviewing important terms and expectations

  6. Deciding whether you want to move forward

  7. Activating your Earth Care Pro account

  8. Accessing the Workers Center and other Pro resources

Orientation is there to make sure you know what you are signing up for before reaching the activation stage.

Is Orientation the Same as the Workers Center?

No.

Orientation is primarily designed to explain Earth Care to applicants and prospective pros before they complete the full activation process.

The Workers Center is a private resource center available to activated Earth Care pros.

Think of it this way:

Orientation = Learn how Earth Care works and decide whether it is right for you.

Workers Center = Access the tools, resources, support, and opportunity resources available after activation.

Do I Receive My Pro ID During Orientation?

Yes.

Your Earth Care Pro ID number is provided as part of the orientation and onboarding process.

Save your Pro ID for your records because it identifies you within the Earth Care system and may be useful throughout your relationship with the platform.

Why Does Earth Care Require Orientation?

Independent work platforms can sometimes be confusing.

People naturally have questions such as:

How does this work?

What kinds of jobs are available?

What am I paying for?

What do I receive?

How do I find work?

What happens after I join?

What does Earth Care do for me?

Earth Care Orientation exists to answer those questions before you make your decision.

We want prospective pros to have an opportunity to explore the platform, understand what is offered, learn about available resources, review the terms, and determine whether the opportunity meets their expectations.
