Earth Care Rent A Tech Pro Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about becoming an Earth Care Pro? Below you can learn how activation works, what your one-time fee includes, how you can find opportunities, how Earth Care work orders are paid, how training works, and what resources become available after you join.
Earth Care combines platform-managed work opportunities with independent worker boards, Worker Groups, professional training, career resources, and business tools to give experienced service professionals multiple ways to pursue work.
Getting Started With Earth Care
Can I work right after paying?
Yes. Once your activation is complete, your Worker Groups, independent worker boards, third-party opportunity resources, and other platform tools become available so you can begin searching and applying for opportunities right away.
If you would also like to accept platform-managed work orders coordinated directly through Earth Care, you must complete the required free S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and qualification process. The training helps ensure Earth Care Pros understand platform procedures, professional expectations, safety principles, and client-service standards before accepting Earth Care work orders.
This means you do not have to wait until the entire certification process is complete to begin using the independent opportunity resources available through your account. You can begin exploring opportunities while completing your Earth Care training.
How quickly you connect with an opportunity depends on your location, experience, selected work categories, availability, travel area, and local demand.
How much is it to start?
The full Earth Care Pro Activation Pack requires a one-time payment of $47.
This is not a monthly subscription. There are no required recurring membership fees, advertising fees, per-lead fees, or per-job fees charged by Earth Care simply to maintain your Pro account.
Your $47 activation provides access to the Earth Care platform, S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and certification resources, professional tools, Worker Groups, independent worker boards, the Opportunity Center, your professional profile resources, and information about Earth Care platform opportunities as they become available.
After completing the required free training and qualification process, eligible Pros may also accept available Earth Care platform work orders that match their qualifications.
Earth Care may offer optional products or services, such as additional training or protection programs, but these are optional and are not required to maintain standard Pro platform access. Your order is protected by our 100% money back guarantee if we are not able to find work in your area we will refund you 100% no questions asked.
Are payment plan options available?
Yes. Earth Care may offer payment options that make the one-time activation cost easier to manage.
Pay in 4 with Afterpay: Choose the full one-time Pro Activation Pack and select Afterpay at checkout, when available.
The purchase is divided into scheduled payments through Afterpay.
In-House Pay in 2 Option: When offered, you may begin with the initial badge and training package and later pay the remaining balance required for full platform activation.
With the introductory package, you may begin training and use the included independent opportunity resources. Full activation is required before completing the Earth Care certification process and accepting Earth Care platform-managed work orders.
Why does Earth Care charge a one-time fee instead of taking a percentage of every job?
Because we believe the person doing the work should benefit from the work.
When we built Earth Care Rent A Tech, we had a choice. We could follow the traditional gig-platform model and collect a percentage every time a service professional completed a job, or we could build something different.
We chose different.
Our philosophy is simple: you shouldn't owe us more just because you worked more.
Earth Care Pros bring their skills, experience, tools, time, and effort to the customer. When you complete the work, we believe the compensation you earn from that work should remain yours rather than becoming another recurring platform fee.
That's why Earth Care uses a one-time activation fee instead of taking a percentage from your future Earth Care jobs.
Your activation provides access to the infrastructure we've built around the professional network, including onboarding, S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and certification resources, professional-development tools, your Pro profile, worker networking resources, the Opportunity Center, platform resources, and ongoing access to qualifying service-opportunity information.
One payment. Ongoing access. No monthly Earth Care membership fee.
But our philosophy goes beyond how we charge Pros.
We believe a business should give something back.
A portion of what Earth Care earns helps support initiatives beyond the platform itself.
Our community and environmental efforts have included supporting climate-action projects around the world, permanently removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, providing additional training and resources to homeowners and service professionals, supporting veterans nationwide, participating in local clothing drives, and completing community projects at no cost.
To date, our initiatives have helped:
-
Support 65+ environmental and climate projects worldwide
-
Permanently remove approximately 6 tons of CO₂
-
Give back to 800+ veterans nationwide
-
Provide 40+ hours of additional free workforce and homeowner training
-
Support local clothing drives and other community programs in areas we serve
For us, being worker-focused means more than simply connecting people with opportunities. It means trying to build a system where the people doing the work can keep what they earn, develop new skills, build greater independence, and be part of a network that gives something back to the communities around it.
Some platforms grow their revenue by taking more as their workers complete more jobs.
We decided our success shouldn't require continually taking a piece of yours.
You pay once for access to the professional ecosystem we've built. After that, we want you to use it, grow with it, and keep the value of the work you perform.
That's the kind of worker-first platform we wanted Earth Care Rent A Tech to be.
Work Opportunities
How much work is available?
Earth Care uses a three-source opportunity approach so Pros are not limited to a single source of potential work.
Opportunities can come through Earth Care Platform Jobs, independent Worker Boards, and Worker Groups.
There are currently more than 1,000 third-party job opportunities posted nationwide through outside opportunity sources available to Pros. These may include full-time employment, skilled-trade positions, construction opportunities, apprenticeships, seasonal work, and other employment or contract opportunities.
Earth Care also provides access to more than 500 Worker Groups nationwide, helping Pros connect with other workers, share leads, collaborate, network, and discover additional opportunities in their regions.
Earth Care Platform Jobs are shorter-term service projects generated through Earth Care clients. These work orders are available to qualified and certified Pros and may include handyman work, repairs, moving assistance, cleaning, landscaping, skilled trades, general labor, and other home and business services.
Together, these three channels give Pros multiple ways to pursue work depending on whether they are looking for flexible service projects, independent opportunities, networking opportunities, apprenticeships, or longer-term employment.
Specific opportunities available to an individual Pro will depend on location, qualifications, service categories, travel area, client demand, and market conditions.
Earth Care does not guarantee a minimum number of assignments, hours, or earnings, but Pros receive access to multiple nationwide opportunity sources rather than depending exclusively on Earth Care-generated work orders.
What are the independent Worker Boards?
Earth Care provides Pros with access to six independent worker boards and opportunity resources designed to expand the number and types of opportunities they can pursue.
These outside resources may include full-time jobs, skilled-trade positions, construction work, apprenticeships, seasonal opportunities, contract work, and other employment or independent-work listings.
These resources are independently operated and are not owned or controlled by Earth Care. Earth Care organizes access to them within the Pro experience as an additional resource for professionals who want more ways to find work beyond Earth Care platform jobs.
There are currently more than 1,000 third-party job opportunities posted nationwide through these outside opportunity sources.
What are Worker Groups?
Worker Groups are professional community and networking resources that allow Pros to connect with other workers, exchange information, share potential leads, collaborate on projects, and discover opportunities in their regions.
Earth Care currently provides access to more than 500 Worker Groups nationwide.
These groups give Pros another way to build professional connections and discover opportunities beyond traditional job boards and Earth Care platform work orders.
What kind of work is available?
Earth Care and the independent opportunity resources available through the platform cover a broad range of service and trade categories.
General and helper opportunities may include moving assistance, loading and unloading, cleanup, demolition assistance, equipment setup, furniture assembly, home organization, junk removal, and general project assistance.
Home-service opportunities may include handyman work, repairs, property maintenance, appliance installation, TV mounting, pressure washing, gutter work, window services, garage-door services, security-camera installation, and other household projects.
Cleaning and property-care opportunities may include residential cleaning, commercial cleaning, office cleaning, landscaping, gardening, lawn care, planting, weeding, and seasonal property maintenance.
Skilled-trade opportunities may include carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, painting, drywall, flooring, framing, roofing, siding, stucco, tile and grout, concrete, welding, countertops, windows, doors, and related trades.
Available opportunities vary by location, qualifications, service category, customer demand, season, and the individual opportunity source.

Is the $47 membership a good value?
For many pros, yes. The value of even one qualifying paid opportunity can exceed the entire $47 membership cost, .
Your membership also includes access to professional resources, training and certification, worker groups, opportunity resources, business tools, your professional profile, and support throughout the year.
Why is there a membership fee when I’m looking for work?
Earth Care uses a membership model designed to provide professionals with more than just job listings. Your membership supports access to training and certification resources, professional tools, worker groups, your professional profile, opportunity resources, and U.S.-based support throughout your membership.
The membership model also helps us maintain a more committed professional network rather than simply opening the platform to an unlimited number of applicants. We can limit new approvals in areas where we already have sufficient coverage, helping reduce unnecessary competition among members.
At $47 it is designed to be an affordable business expense.
The value of even one qualifying paid project can exceed the entire membership cost.
Charging professionals isn't unique to Earth Care; service marketplaces use different models, including membership, registration, lead, advertising, and commission-based fees. Your order is protected by our 100% money back guarantee if we are not able to find work in your area we will refund you 100% no questions asked.
I don’t feel comfortable paying a membership fee. Why should I join?
We understand. Paying for a professional platform may feel unfamiliar, especially if you’re used to traditional employers that never charge applicants. Earth Care is different: your $47 membership provides a full access to professional resources, training and certification, worker groups, business tools, opportunity resources, your professional profile, and U.S.-based support.
Our membership model also helps us maintain a more committed professional network instead of accepting unlimited numbers of pros into every market. We can limit new approvals where sufficient coverage already exists, helping reduce unnecessary competition.
The value of even one qualifying paid project can exceed the entire $47 membership cost.
Still unsure? Before joining, you can text WORK + your ZIP code to 1-833-736-8835 to ask about currently posted opportunities in your area. You can also speak with a live U.S.-based representative who can answer your questions before you make a decision.
Your order is protected by our 100% money back guarantee if we are not able to find work in your area we will refund you 100% no questions asked. There’s also no pressure to activate today. Your approved application remains valid for up to one year, so you can take your time and come back when you feel comfortable.
Training and Certification
What is S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training?
S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. is Earth Care's professional training and qualification program for Pros.
It is designed to strengthen the professional, business, communication, safety, job-search, and client-service skills that can help an experienced tradesperson or service professional operate more effectively.
S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. does not teach applicants how to perform the underlying trade or service they selected. Applicants are expected to already have prior paid experience in at least one selected service category.
What does S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training cover?
The program covers 13 major professional-development areas.
-
AI Readiness for Tradespeople: Using AI to assist with estimates, messages, organization, workflow, and marketing
-
Blue-Collar Interview Mastery: Interview preparation, common questions, response strategies, realistic scenarios, and mock interviews
-
Branding: Creating professional digital materials and presenting your services effectively
-
Business Skills: Pricing, scheduling, estimating, customer service, marketing, and workflow management
-
Communication Skills: Communicating clearly and professionally with clients
-
Eco-Conscious Work Practices: Modern practices relevant to environmentally conscious homeowners and businesses
-
Financial Literacy: Budgeting, expense tracking, and planning for sustainable independent earnings
-
Goals and Worker Action Planning: Creating measurable professional goals and an individualized Worker Action Plan
-
Networking and Worker Groups: Building professional connections and locating additional opportunities
-
Professional Tools: Templates and resources for applying for work and presenting your experience
-
Professionalism: Practices that can encourage client satisfaction, repeat business, and positive reviews
-
Punctuality and Time Management: Remaining organized, dependable, and prepared
-
Safety and Risk Prevention: Protecting yourself, clients, coworkers, and property
These skills and resources can be used beyond Earth Care. Pros may apply what they learn while serving their own clients, using outside job boards, participating in Worker Groups, pursuing apprenticeships, applying for traditional employment, or developing an independent service business.
The training is informed by workforce-development concepts, educational materials, professional guidance, and industry publications from more than 90 organizations and institutions.
Referenced sources may include organizations such as OSHA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, National Safety Council, Forest Stewardship Council, and ENERGY STAR. References to outside organizations do not mean those organizations sponsor, endorse, certify, or are affiliated with Earth Care.
Is S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. a credible professional certification?
Yes. S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. is Earth Care's professional-readiness training and microcredential designed specifically for independent contractors, tradespeople, and service professionals.
The program is built around more than simple platform orientation. Its curriculum incorporates information and educational material drawn from more than 90 professional, academic, government, safety, workforce-development, and industry sources, covering areas such as safety, professionalism, communication, business skills, financial literacy, artificial intelligence, sustainability, career development, and client service.
The design of the S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. program has also been the subject of scholarly publication. In 2026, a program-design article titled “From Platform Orientation to Professional Readiness: Design of the S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. Microcredential for Independent Contractors and Service Professionals” was published in Stout in Business and Management, an international peer-reviewed academic journal. The article examines the program's curriculum structure, assessment approach, professional-readiness objectives, and quality-assurance framework.
Why is training important if I already know my trade?
We know you know your trade that’s why you were approved. Our training isn’t designed to teach an experienced painter how to paint, a carpenter how to build, or a cleaner how to clean. It focuses on the professional skills that can help turn great tradespeople into great independent service professionals.
As an independent pro, success requires more than technical ability. Communication, time management, customer relationships, professionalism, sales, personal branding, problem-solving, and knowing how to market yourself can all influence whether a customer calls you again, recommends you to someone else, or chooses you for their next project.
Our goal is to help you confidently communicate your value, stand out from the competition, and wow your customers both on and off the Earth Care platform. These are skills you can take with you throughout your career, whether you're completing an Earth Care opportunity, finding your own clients, or building a business of your own.
We’re not here to tell you how to do your trade. We’re here to help you show customers just how good you are at it.
Earth Care is committed to helping develop the next generation of successful tradesmen and tradeswomen by combining hands-on experience with the professional and business skills needed to build a stronger career.
The Opportunity Center
What is the Earth Care Opportunity Center?
The Earth Care Opportunity Center brings multiple professional and career resources together in one location for Earth Care Pros.
Depending on the resource, Pros may find independent worker boards, current job listings, apprenticeship information, Worker Groups, industry news, trade resources, business tools, job-search resources, career-development materials, and information about available Earth Care opportunities.
Third-party job boards, employers, Worker Groups, and outside resources available through the Opportunity Center are independently operated and are not owned or controlled by Earth Care.
The Opportunity Center is intended to give Pros more ways to pursue opportunities instead of relying on a single source of work.
Pay and Earnings
How am I paid?
For Earth Care work orders, compensation and important project details are disclosed before you accept the opportunity.
Pros are paid directly by the client after completing the agreed work. Many Earth Care work orders provide same-day direct payment, including cash when cash is the specified payment method.
Earth Care does not hold your Earth Care work-order earnings or deduct a percentage from the compensation you receive for completing the work.
Payment arrangements for independent third-party opportunities, outside employers, or other opportunities found through third-party resources are determined by those outside parties.
Am I really paid directly by the client?
Yes. For Earth Care work orders, the client pays the Pro directly after the agreed work has been completed.
Earth Care does not process, hold, delay, or deduct a percentage from your Earth Care work-order earnings.
The compensation and payment method for an available work order are disclosed before you decide whether you want to accept it.
How much can I earn?
Compensation depends on the project, service category, location, scope of work, required experience, and individual opportunity.
Some qualifying Earth Care work orders may pay up to $40 per service hour, while select larger projects may provide total compensation of up to $1,000 per project, depending on the scope and requirements.
Project compensation and important details are disclosed before acceptance so you can determine whether an opportunity fits your goals.
Earth Care does not guarantee that every work order will pay $40 per service hour or $1,000 per project, and does not guarantee a particular number of work orders, hours, or total amount of earnings. Your order is protected by our 100% money back guarantee if we are not able to find work in your area we will refund you 100% no questions asked.
Why doesn’t Earth Care guarantee work or earnings?
Because flexibility works both ways.
Earth Care Rent A Tech was designed to give independent service providers more control over when, where, and how they work. Traditional employment often comes with assigned shifts, fixed schedules, required locations, and work that you may be expected to accept. We wanted to build something different.
With Earth Care, you can decide which opportunities make sense for you. You can consider factors such as:
Pay
Location and travel distance
Time of day
Type of work
Your skills and experience
Your personal schedule
Whether a particular project is simply a good fit for you
You are not expected to accept every opportunity, and declining an opportunity does not mean you have to give up the flexibility of the platform.
That freedom is also why we do not guarantee a certain number of jobs, hours, or earnings. A true earnings guarantee would generally require much greater control over your schedule, workload, assignments, and potentially how payments are handled. That is not the relationship we wanted to create.
Instead, our goal is to provide access to opportunities while leaving the decision to you. Actual opportunities can vary based on location, customer demand, service category, timing, qualifications, and the criteria you choose for the work you are willing to accept.
We want pros to have room to try new types of work, develop their skills, grow as service providers, and build a working life that fits their individual goals — rather than having Earth Care dictate what that working life must look like.
In short: we provide the opportunity and support; you keep the freedom to decide what works for you.
When can I work?
You choose opportunities that fit your availability.
Pros can select their preferred travel area and decide which suitable opportunities they want to pursue or accept.
There is no required acceptance rate or penalty simply for declining an Earth Care opportunity that does not fit your schedule, location, qualifications, travel preferences, or desired compensation.
This allows Pros to use Earth Care alongside their own clients, other independent work, outside employment, or other professional commitments.
Refund Protection
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. Earth Care offers a 30-Day Opportunity Guarantee because opportunity availability can differ by service area and work category.
You may qualify for a 100% refund of your one-time setup fee if no qualifying opportunity becomes available in your covered service area during your first 30 days.
Before making a final determination, our team will review your service area, selected work categories, profile, and qualifying opportunities available through Earth Care and the independent opportunity resources included with the platform.
Our team may also work directly with you to help you make better use of the platform, including reviewing your profile, exploring additional appropriate work categories, adjusting your opportunity-search strategy, or helping you navigate the available resources.
The guarantee concerns access to qualifying opportunities. It is not a guarantee that a particular employer or client will hire you, that you will receive an Earth Care assignment, or that you will earn a particular amount.
Choosing not to apply for, respond to, or pursue an available qualifying opportunity does not create refund eligibility.
You may request a guarantee review by emailing hr@earthcarebrands.com. Requests submitted before the initial 30-day period has ended may be recorded and reviewed once the eligibility period is complete. You retain platform access while the request is pending.
Earth Care will provide a written decision within five business days after the applicable eligibility date. Complete conditions are provided in the Earth Care Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
Independent Contractor Status
Am I an Earth Care employee?
No. Earth Care Pro participation is not W-2 employment with Earth Care.
Pros participate as independent contractors and decide which available Earth Care gigs they wish to accept and when they wish to work.
Earth Care does not guarantee employment, job placement, a particular customer, a minimum number of work orders, a minimum number of hours, or a particular level of earnings.
Third-party opportunities available through outside job boards may include W-2 employment, apprenticeships, contract positions, or other arrangements. The terms of those opportunities are established by the individual third-party employer or organization.
Professional Support
How does Earth Care help me succeed?
Earth Care gives Pros more than a place to view individual work orders.
Pros receive access to professional training and certification resources, business and job-search tools, more than 500 Worker Groups nationwide, independent worker boards, professional-profile resources, and the Earth Care Opportunity Center.
Our U.S.-based human support team can also assist with platform questions, client coordination, Earth Care work-order information, and navigating the independent opportunity resources available through your account.
These resources are designed to help Pros strengthen their professional skills, present their experience more effectively, discover additional opportunities, build useful professional connections, and grow either an independent service business or long-term career in the trades.
What if I have questions before I join?
We are happy to answer questions before you activate your account.
Call or text 833-736-8835 to speak with a live, U.S.-based Earth Care support representative.
Our team can explain the activation process, training requirements, opportunity resources, Earth Care platform work orders, payment process, and other questions you may have before getting started.
Can I see some references before I Join?
Yes. We encourage you to review independent feedback before deciding whether Earth Care is right for you. Earth Care currently has a strong 4.8-star rating on Glassdoor and 4.5-star rating on Indeed, two prominent job and workplace review websites.
You can also scroll up on this page to read reviews and feedback from other Pros before joining. We want applicants to have the opportunity to learn more about Earth Care, review outside feedback, and ask questions before making a decision.
Can I confirm there is work before I Join?
Yes. Before joining, you can check whether there are currently posted opportunities near your area.
Simply text WORK + your ZIP code to 1-833-736-8835. A U.S.-based Earth Care representative will review the current posted opportunities near your location and let you know what is presently available.
For example: WORK 23452
Because opportunities change regularly, this gives you a way to check current availability in your area before deciding whether to activate your Pro account.
Can I see examples of past jobs before joining?
Yes. Scroll up to the Past Job Examples table on this page to see examples of previously completed jobs, including the type of work and what the pro was paid.
The table is not a complete list of every job Earth Care has handled. It is provided to give you a better idea of the types of projects pros may encounter, how jobs are structured, and what different types of tasks have paid in the past.
Want to check your own area before joining? Text WORK + your ZIP code to 1-833-736-8835. A live U.S.-based representative can check for currently posted opportunities near you and answer any questions you have before you decide to activate.
Do I have to join today?
No. There is no pressure or requirement to activate your Earth Care Pro account today.
If your application has been accepted, your approval remains valid for up to one year, giving you plenty of time to decide when getting started makes sense for you.
You are welcome to review the orientation, read our FAQs and reviews, ask our support team questions, check for currently posted opportunities near your ZIP code, and return when you are ready.
If now is not the right time, simply save the page and come back later. You do not need to submit another application during your one-year approval period.
