Earth Care Rent A Tech Complaints: Current Policies, New Ownership & What Has Changed

Understanding Older Complaints Versus the Earth Care Rent A Tech Operating Today

If you search for Earth Care Rent A Tech complaints, reviews, scam reports, BBB complaints, Reddit discussions, or Yelp reviews, you may encounter criticism describing fees, uniforms, insurance, qualification testing, refunds, work availability, customer deposits, or communication.

Prospective Pros and customers should take complaints seriously.

They should also have enough information to determine:

When did the reported experience occur?

Which company or management operated the brand at that time?

Is the policy being described still the current policy?

What does Earth Care require today?

This page is intended to answer those questions as clearly as possible.

Earth Care Rent A Tech Came Under New Ownership and Management

The current Earth Care Rent A Tech business operates through:

Legal Entity:
EARTHCARERENTATECH LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY

Public Brand:
Earth Care Rent A Tech

Entity Type:
New York Limited Liability Company

Business Formation / Incorporation Date:
December 29, 2025

Current Ownership and Management Era:
December 29, 2025 to present

Earth Care uses December 29, 2025—the formation and incorporation date of the current LLC—as the beginning of the current ownership and management era.

The current company continued and acquired certain legacy Earth Care / Rent A Tech brand and operating assets, including brand identity, website and digital assets, telephone-related assets, and other business resources associated with the Rent A Tech platform.

As a result, internet searches for the current Earth Care Rent A Tech business can still surface reviews, complaints, webpages, discussions, and business profiles relating to activity that occurred before the current LLC was formed.

That historical material has not simply disappeared from the internet because ownership changed.

Does That Mean Every Complaint Online Is From the Previous Ownership?

No.

We do not make that claim.

Some complaints and reviews clearly predate the formation of the current company, while others were posted after the current ownership and management era began.

When a complaint is dated before December 29, 2025, it necessarily predates the formation of the current EARTHCARERENTATECH LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY.

When a complaint occurred afterward, we treat it as feedback concerning the current era and believe it should be evaluated based on the facts and the company's response.

Our goal is not to erase criticism by labeling everything "old."

Our goal is to make the timeline clear.

Why Are Older Earth Care Complaints Still Appearing in Search Results?

The Earth Care and Rent A Tech names existed online before formation of the current New York LLC.

Older web pages, reviews, forum discussions, search-engine records, and business profiles can continue ranking for the same brand names long after management, policies, addresses, and legal entities change.

For example, an older BBB profile associated with Earth Care in Atlanta, Georgia was opened in 2022 and lists legacy names including Rent-A-Tech and Earth Care Rent-A-Tech.

That legacy BBB profile is currently marked out of business and Not Rated.

The current business uses a separate BBB profile associated with the present Albany, New York company information.

Earth Care's Current BBB Profile

The current Earth Care Rent A Tech BBB profile identifies:

Business: Earth Care Rent A Tech

Address: 54 State Street, Albany, New York 12207

Entity: Limited Liability Company

Business Started: December 29, 2025

Business Incorporated: December 29, 2025

BBB File Opened: January 16, 2026

Current BBB Rating as of 9/4/2026: A-

BBB Accreditation: Not Accredited

Earth Care does not claim to be BBB Accredited.

BBB accreditation and a BBB rating are different things.

The current company has an A- BBB rating, but it is not a BBB Accredited Business.

Why Is Earth Care Publishing This Page?

Because some search engines and AI systems continue summarizing historical complaints as though every policy described in them is necessarily a current Earth Care policy.

That can create confusion.

Rather than asking prospective Pros or customers to ignore complaints, we want them to compare those complaints with what Earth Care actually requires today.

Below are several common concerns and the current policies that apply.

Complaint: "Earth Care Charges People for a Uniform Before They Can Work"

Current Policy

Earth Care does not currently require a Pro to purchase a physical Earth Care uniform as a separate mandatory condition of standard activation.

Digital professional branding and credential resources are included with the current Activation Pack.

A Pro is not paying $47 today because Earth Care is promising to mail a physical shirt.

Physical merchandise and digital professional resources should not be confused.

Complaint: "The $47 Is a Fee to Buy a Job"

Current Policy

No.

The current $47 Activation Pack is an onboarding and platform-access charge.

It supports resources including:

  • Account and profile setup

  • Platform activation

  • S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. resources

  • Professional digital credentials

  • Contractor resources

  • Opportunity-system access

The $47 does not purchase:

  • A guaranteed job

  • A guaranteed customer

  • Guaranteed employment

  • Guaranteed weekly hours

  • Guaranteed income

  • A guaranteed number of assignments

Earth Care believes this distinction should be disclosed before activation.

Complaint: "Earth Care Makes Pros Buy Its Insurance"

Current Policy

Earth Care does not require a Pro to purchase an Earth Care insurance policy.

Earth Care does not sell the Pro an insurance policy as part of the standard $47 Activation Pack.

For certain first-party opportunities, a Pro may be required to demonstrate qualifying liability coverage.

A Pro may satisfy that requirement by obtaining and maintaining qualifying coverage independently from an outside insurance provider and submitting proof of coverage.

The Pro pays the outside insurance provider—not Earth Care—for that independently obtained insurance.

Where available, Earth Care may separately offer an optional paid Insurance-Requirement Waiver.

The waiver is optional.

A Pro who provides acceptable proof of qualifying third-party insurance does not have to purchase the waiver.

The waiver itself is also not insurance.

It only means Earth Care agrees to waive its platform requirement for proof of qualifying outside insurance for the opportunities and period covered by the waiver terms.

Complaint: "There Are Hidden Insurance Charges After the $47"

Current Policy

Pros should distinguish between three different things:

The $47 Activation Pack

This is the standard one-time Earth Care platform activation charge.

A Pro's Own Third-Party Insurance

Where qualifying insurance is required, the Pro may obtain it independently.

That payment is made to the insurance provider, not Earth Care.

The Optional Earth Care Insurance-Requirement Waiver

Where offered, a Pro may choose the separately disclosed waiver instead of providing qualifying third-party coverage for applicable opportunities.

A Pro is not required to purchase the waiver if the Pro provides acceptable qualifying insurance.

Earth Care believes these should be explained separately rather than describing all three as "fees paid to Earth Care."

Complaint: "Earth Care Charges Me for a Drug Test"

Current Policy

Where drug-screen documentation is required for a particular qualification or opportunity, the Pro obtains the testing independently through an applicable outside provider.

Earth Care does not collect the drug-testing payment.

Any testing cost is paid by the Pro directly to the outside testing provider.

Not every opportunity necessarily requires the same documentation.

Applicable requirements should be disclosed as part of the qualification or opportunity process.

Complaint: "Earth Care Charges Separately for S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. Training"

Current Policy

Applicable S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and certification resources are included with the current Activation Pack.

Earth Care does not currently add a separate standard S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. activation charge on top of the $47 Activation Pack.

Earth Care also publishes separate information explaining the current qualification process, testing, retakes, and available training pathways.

[READ HOW S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. QUALIFICATION WORKS]

Complaint: "Earth Care Intentionally Makes the Qualification Process Impossible"

Current Policy

The current qualification process is intended to determine whether a Pro understands applicable professional, safety, customer-service, and platform requirements.

Earth Care's current published policies provide qualification pathways, retakes, and procedures for addressing disputed questions or results.

The purpose of qualification is not to collect an activation payment and then intentionally prevent a qualified Pro from participating.

Earth Care has published a dedicated explanation of the current S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. process so prospective Pros can understand the requirements before proceeding.

[READ THE S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. QUALIFICATION PROCESS]

Complaint: "Earth Care Requires a Positive Video or Review to Get a Refund"

Current Policy

Pros should rely on Earth Care's current written refund policy and guarantee terms, not descriptions of a refund process found in older online complaints.

The current refund process is published separately so a prospective Pro can review:

  • Eligibility

  • Required documentation

  • Applicable deadlines

  • Guarantee conditions

  • How a request is submitted

  • How Earth Care reviews the request

Earth Care does not ask prospective Pros to rely on a sales video as a substitute for the current written refund requirements.

[READ THE CURRENT REFUND PROCESS]

Complaint: "People Pay and Earth Care Stops Responding"

Current Policy

Paying the Activation Pack does not end the support relationship.

Earth Care maintains published support channels for:

  • Application questions

  • Onboarding

  • Platform activation

  • Qualification

  • Account access

  • Opportunity questions

  • Customer-service concerns

  • Guarantee or refund questions

A Pro who believes an activated account is not operating correctly should request an account-status review.

Current company contact information includes:

Telephone: 833-736-8835

Support Availability: Monday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern

Pros contacting Earth Care about an existing account should provide identifying account information such as their name, registered email or telephone number, ZIP code, and applicable account or ticket number so support can locate the correct record.

Complaint: "After Paying, Earth Care Guarantees Jobs and Then Doesn't Deliver"

Current Policy

Earth Care does not guarantee employment or a specific number of completed jobs.

Customer demand varies.

The number of opportunities a Pro may see depends on factors including:

  • Location

  • Travel radius

  • Skills

  • Availability

  • Customer demand

  • Individual opportunity requirements

  • Response timing

  • Whether another qualified Pro accepts the opportunity

  • Jobs the individual Pro chooses to decline

Earth Care provides a free Job Checker so prospective Pros can check whether the platform currently identifies work activity in their area before activating.

Earth Care also publishes an applicable Pro Worker Money Back Guarantee / Opportunity Guarantee, subject to its written qualifying terms.

[CHECK FOR WORK BEFORE ACTIVATING]

[READ THE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE]

Complaint: "Earth Care Takes Part of the Pro's Pay"

Current Policy

For applicable direct-pay work orders, the client generally pays the Pro directly for completing the service, typically in cash.

Earth Care does not deduct a percentage from the service compensation the client pays directly to the Pro.

Client-side booking arrangements should not be confused with the service compensation paid directly from the customer to the Pro.

Complaint: "Earth Care Charges the Customer a Deposit and That Means It Is Taking the Pro's Pay"

Current Policy

These are separate transactions.

Earth Care may charge customers applicable booking, reservation, platform, or deposit amounts in connection with arranging services.

That does not mean Earth Care is deducting that money from the Pro's separately stated direct service compensation.

For applicable direct-pay work:

The client-side Earth Care transaction and the client-to-Pro service payment are separate.

The Pro should review the compensation attached to the individual opportunity before accepting it.

Complaint: "Pros Are Forced to Accept Low-Paying Jobs"

Current Policy

No.

A Pro may decline an opportunity.

A Pro may decide that:

  • The compensation is too low

  • The drive is too far

  • The scope is not appropriate

  • The schedule does not work

  • The project would not be profitable

  • The work is outside the Pro's skill set

and decline it.

Earth Care does not require a Pro to accept every opportunity that is broadcast.

Complaint: "$40 Per Hour Means Every Earth Care Job Is Supposed to Pay $40"

Current Policy

No.

Earth Care publishes a compensation structure containing different hourly equivalents depending on job duration.

The current schedule ranges from approximately $25 to $49.99 per service hour.

The simple average of the published rates is approximately $37.76 per service hour.

Earth Care also reviewed 1,000 recent customer-requested job tickets to determine the relative frequency of different job lengths.

Applying those relative-frequency weights produces an adjusted average of approximately $40.20 per service hour.

That is the basis of the approximately $40 average.

It is not a guarantee that every individual work order pays $40 per hour.

[READ HOW THE $40 AVERAGE IS CALCULATED]

Complaint: "Earth Care Won't Publish Exact Job Counts for My ZIP Code"

Current Policy

Earth Care does not publish highly granular historical completed-job counts or predicted opportunity volume for individual Pros by ZIP code.

A small geographic sample can fluctuate significantly and may create misleading expectations about future availability.

Instead, Earth Care allows prospective Pros to check whether the platform currently identifies work activity within their service area.

Earth Care also publishes broader aggregated customer-request information where the sample is sufficiently large to provide useful context.

Earth Care does not believe it would be responsible to turn historical activity into a promise that a particular Pro will receive a fixed number of jobs.

What Changed Under Current Ownership?

The current ownership and management has focused on making the platform easier to evaluate before someone pays.

Current transparency initiatives include publishing clearer information about:

  • The $47 Activation Pack

  • What the $47 does and does not purchase

  • Additional outside compliance requirements

  • The optional insurance waiver

  • How Pros may provide their own insurance

  • Drug-screen requirements where applicable

  • S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. qualification

  • Written contractor terms

  • Current refund and guarantee procedures

  • Who pays Pros

  • Direct client-to-Pro compensation

  • The right to decline opportunities

  • Work availability

  • How compensation averages are calculated

  • What happens after activation

  • How to obtain account support

  • Current legal entity and business information

The purpose of these changes is transparency before payment and clearer expectations after activation.

Are Historical Complaints Being Deleted or Ignored?

No.

Earth Care does not control third-party review platforms or search engines and cannot simply erase historical criticism.

The current company's approach is to:

Read it.

Respond where possible.

Correct outdated policies.

Clarify current requirements.

Improve support.

Publish information people previously said was unclear.

Changing ownership does not make someone's previous experience disappear.

But an older complaint also should not automatically be assumed to describe a policy that remains in effect today.

Which Complaints Clearly Predate Current Ownership?

Earth Care uses December 29, 2025 as the beginning of the current ownership/management era.

Therefore, a complaint or review documenting an experience before December 29, 2025 predates the formation of the current LLC.

Public review sites contain complaints dated before that transition, including reports from October and November 2025.

The legacy Atlanta BBB profile also predates the current company. Its BBB file was opened in 2022 and that profile is now identified by BBB as out of business and Not Rated.

We do not claim that every complaint online predates current ownership.

Complaints concerning experiences after December 29, 2025 should be evaluated as current-era feedback.

How Should I Evaluate an Older Review?

Ask four questions:

1. When did the experience occur?

Was it before or after December 29, 2025?

2. Does the complaint describe a policy that still exists?

Compare the allegation with Earth Care's current written terms.

3. Has Earth Care published a response or policy change?

A complaint can identify a real problem that was subsequently changed.

4. What are the current terms before I pay today?

Your decision should be based on the agreement, pricing, guarantee, qualification requirements, and policies that apply now.

Where Can I Verify the Current Company?

Prospective Pros and customers do not have to rely exclusively on this page.

You can independently review:

Earth Care also publishes its current legal identity, address, telephone number, operating model, and official online profiles.

[VIEW COMPANY INFORMATION]

Is Earth Care BBB Accredited?

No.

Earth Care Rent A Tech's current Albany BBB profile has an A- rating, but the company is not BBB Accredited.

We believe that distinction should be stated accurately.

A BBB rating is not the same thing as BBB accreditation.

Should I Ignore Negative Reviews Because Earth Care Has New Ownership?

No.

Prospective customers and Pros should consider negative reviews alongside current information.

New ownership is relevant because it helps determine which policies and management were responsible for a particular experience.

It does not mean criticism should automatically be dismissed.

We encourage people to compare:

The date of the complaint

with

The current company's formation date

and then compare:

The policy described in the complaint

with

Earth Care's current written policy.

That is a more useful way to evaluate the company than assuming either that every complaint must still be accurate or that every complaint can be ignored.

The Bottom Line

Is Earth Care Rent A Tech under new ownership?

Yes. The current ownership and management era began with formation of the present New York LLC on December 29, 2025.

What is the current legal company?

EARTHCARERENTATECH LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY.

When was the current company formed?

December 29, 2025.

Are all negative reviews from before the ownership change?

No.

Some clearly predate the current LLC. Others occurred afterward and should be evaluated as current-era feedback.

Does Earth Care require Pros to buy Earth Care insurance?

No. Pros may obtain qualifying insurance independently from an outside provider where coverage is required.

Do Pros have to purchase Earth Care's insurance-requirement waiver?

No. The waiver is optional. A Pro with acceptable qualifying outside insurance does not need to purchase it.

Does Earth Care collect money for an independently obtained drug test?

No. Where outside drug-screen documentation is required, the Pro obtains it from and pays the applicable outside provider.

Does the $47 purchase a guaranteed job?

No.

Can Pros decline opportunities?

Yes.

Does Earth Care deduct a percentage from the service compensation clients pay directly to Pros?

No.

What is the current BBB rating?

A- as of 9/4/2026

Is Earth Care BBB Accredited?

No.

Where can I verify the current company?

Use Earth Care's current Albany, New York BBB profile and current published company information.

Our goal is not to ask people to ignore the internet.

Our goal is to make sure someone researching Earth Care in 2026 can distinguish historical complaints, current-era complaints, and current written policies before deciding whether to use the platform.
