Earth Care Rent A Tech Complaints: Our Response and What Has Changed

Earth Care – Rent A Tech recognizes that prospective professionals may encounter complaints while researching our platform. Some complaints describe experiences that occurred under previous ownership, while others come from people who expected guaranteed employment or more opportunities than were available for their location, service category, or schedule.

We do not believe complaints should be ignored or dismissed. This page addresses the most common concerns, explains what Earth Care currently provides, and outlines changes made since Earth Care came under new ownership and management in December 2025.

Earth Care disputes allegations that it operates as a scam or intentionally accepts activation fees without providing value. At the same time, we recognize that Earth Care will not be the right fit for every professional.

Earth Care is an independent-contractor opportunity platform—not an employer, staffing agency, or guaranteed-job program. The one-time $47 activation fee provides access to the platform, contractor tools, training, business resources, networking groups, independent job boards, professional connections, and opportunity information when available.

The fee does not purchase a guaranteed job, customer, number of hours, or amount of earnings.

Why Does Earth Care Have Complaints?

People can have different experiences with any independent-contractor platform. Earth Care opportunities vary based on factors such as:

  • Location

  • Population and customer demand

  • Service categories

  • Travel radius

  • Professional qualifications

  • Schedule and availability

  • Seasonal demand

  • Competition for individual opportunities

  • Whether a customer selects a particular professional

  • Whether the professional accepts or declines available work

A professional in a busy metropolitan area who offers several services and can travel up to an hour may have a different experience from someone in a rural area who offers one specialized service and has limited availability.

Some complaints also appear to result from misunderstandings about what the $47 activation fee purchases. It provides continued platform access and resources, but it does not purchase employment or guarantee that a customer will select a particular professional.

Complaint: “I Paid Earth Care but Did Not Receive a Job”

The $47 activation fee is not payment for a particular job.

It activates access to the Earth Care platform and its available tools, resources, connections, training, and opportunity system. Earth Care does not guarantee that an opportunity will become a completed job or that a customer will select a particular professional.

An activated professional may receive opportunity information, but the outcome can still depend on:

  • Customer selection

  • The professional’s response time

  • Qualifications and experience

  • Availability

  • Travel distance

  • Pricing or project requirements

  • Competition from other professionals

  • Changes or cancellations by the customer

We understand why someone may be disappointed after joining and not immediately completing a job. That disappointment is real, but it does not mean that the activation fee purchased a job that Earth Care failed to deliver.

The fee purchases platform access—not guaranteed employment.

Complaint: “There Was Not Enough Work in My Area”

Opportunity volume is not identical in every ZIP code.

Earth Care serves professionals across many different markets, but customer demand changes by location, category, season, and timing. Some areas may have numerous opportunities while others have fewer.

Earth Care does not guarantee:

  • A minimum number of opportunity alerts

  • A particular opportunity every week

  • A fixed amount of work

  • A minimum number of working hours

  • Customer selection

  • A specific amount of earnings

Prospective applicants can use Earth Care’s free Job Checker before applying. Applicants may also contact Earth Care to ask whether the platform currently serves their general area.

The Job Checker indicates general service-area availability. It does not promise that a particular opportunity will remain open, match every preference, or result in the applicant being selected.

Complaint: “The Job Checker Said Opportunities Existed, but I Did Not Get Work”

The Job Checker and a job guarantee are not the same thing.

The Job Checker evaluates whether Earth Care serves the applicant’s general area and whether relevant types of opportunities may be present within the applicable service radius.

It does not guarantee:

  • That a particular listing will remain available

  • That the applicant will qualify for every opportunity

  • That the customer will select the applicant

  • That the timing will fit the applicant’s schedule

  • That the applicant will accept the opportunity

  • That a customer will not change or cancel the project

Opportunity availability can change quickly. A professional may also decide that an available project is too far away, does not pay enough for their circumstances, requires skills they do not offer, or conflicts with their schedule.

Earth Care tries to provide useful information before someone joins, but no marketplace can guarantee that every available opportunity will become paid work for every member.

Complaint: “Why Can’t I See and Claim a Complete Job Before Paying?”

The free Job Checker allows prospective professionals to check general availability before joining. Complete first-party opportunity access is a member feature.

Opportunity listings may contain customer locations, scheduling information, contact details, project descriptions, and other information that should not be displayed publicly or released to unapproved users.

Restricting complete opportunity access helps protect customers and prevents sensitive project information from being distributed without appropriate controls.

Before paying, an applicant may:

  • Use the free Job Checker

  • Submit an application at no cost

  • Ask whether Earth Care serves their general area

  • Ask about relevant service categories

  • Contact support with questions

  • Review the platform terms

  • Review the 30-day opportunity guarantee

  • Request a video showing a real professional completing a real project

An indication that opportunities exist does not guarantee that a particular opportunity will remain available or result in customer selection.

Complaint: “Earth Care Should Deduct the $47 From My First Job”

Earth Care generally does not collect or hold the money customers pay to professionals. Clients pay professionals directly for completed work.

Because Earth Care does not issue a traditional paycheck or control those direct client payments, there is no future Earth Care paycheck from which the activation fee can simply be deducted.

This direct-payment structure also benefits professionals because Earth Care does not take a percentage from money paid directly by a client.

The activation fee is therefore paid separately when an approved applicant chooses to activate platform access.

Complaint: “I Paid $47 and Did Not Receive Enough Value”

The Earth Care activation fee provides more than opportunity alerts.

Approved professionals receive access to resources that may include:

  • Earth Care opportunity information

  • S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training and certification materials

  • Professional estimating tools

  • Invoicing tools

  • Expense-tracking resources

  • Mileage-logging tools

  • Marketing tools

  • Business-development resources

  • Worker networking groups

  • A curated opportunity center with five independent job boards

  • The Earth Care Trade News Center

  • U.S.-based telephone support

  • First-party and third-party opportunities when available

  • Professional and customer connections

A professional may decide that these resources are not personally valuable to them. However, the activation fee still provides access to actual tools and services—it is not exclusively a payment for one job lead.

Complaint: “I Completed Onboarding but the Platform Was Not for Me”

Earth Care will not be the right fit for everyone, and joining does not require a professional to use the platform as their only source of work.

A professional might join, explore the resources, complete one opportunity, and later decide to use Earth Care only occasionally.

Depending on the compensation, one completed job may repay more than the entire $47 activation fee. For example, a two-hour opportunity paying $30 per hour would provide $60 in gross compensation before taxes and expenses.

Afterward, the professional can retain access to available platform tools, training, connections, resources, and future opportunities without paying another Earth Care activation fee, subject to the platform’s terms and the account remaining eligible and in good standing.

Even when Earth Care does not become someone’s primary source of work, one completed opportunity and continued resource access can still make the initial cost worthwhile.

An opportunity alert alone does not create earnings. The professional must be selected, complete the work successfully, and receive payment.

Complaint: “Earth Care Asked Me to Pay Before Guaranteeing Work”

Earth Care does not describe the $47 activation fee as an investment in guaranteed employment.

The fee supports onboarding, account activation, platform maintenance, professional tools, training, resources, support, and continued access. It does not purchase a guaranteed customer or job.

Earth Care makes this distinction because professionals should understand what they are purchasing before joining.

Anyone who requires guaranteed employment, a guaranteed paycheck, fixed weekly hours, or employee benefits should pursue traditional employment rather than relying exclusively on an independent-contractor marketplace.

Complaint: “I Was Denied a Refund”

Earth Care offers a 30-day opportunity guarantee for qualifying new professionals.

If no qualifying opportunities become available during a professional’s initial 30-day period, the professional may be eligible for a full refund of the $47 activation fee under the current guarantee terms.

Eligibility is determined using factors such as:

  • The service categories selected on the application

  • The professional’s approved location

  • The selected travel radius

  • Whether qualifying opportunities became available

  • Whether the professional followed the applicable platform terms

  • Whether the refund request satisfies the guarantee requirements

The guarantee is based on whether qualifying opportunities became available. It is not a satisfaction guarantee covering every reason someone may decide not to continue.

A professional generally would not qualify for a refund solely because they:

  • Declined a qualifying opportunity

  • Were unavailable when work became available

  • Decided the travel distance was inconvenient after selecting that radius

  • Did not like the available projects

  • Wanted a different type of opportunity

  • Expected guaranteed customer selection

  • Changed their mind about independent-contractor work

Applicants should read and save the current guarantee terms before paying so they understand how eligibility is determined.

Complaints From Before the December 2025 Ownership Change

Earth Care came under new ownership and management in December 2025.

Some complaints found on third-party websites describe events that allegedly occurred before that transition. Current management inherited Earth Care’s existing online history, including unresolved dissatisfaction involving prior operations.

The current company does not believe it would be fair to pretend those complaints do not exist. However, older complaints may not accurately describe today’s:

  • Ownership

  • Management

  • Policies

  • Support process

  • Platform tools

  • Opportunity guarantee

  • Training resources

  • Applicant disclosures

Current management has responded to inherited concerns when possible and has worked to explain the present platform more clearly.

The date of a complaint matters. Prospective applicants should consider whether a complaint concerns the current operation or an earlier period under different ownership and management.

What Has Earth Care Changed Under Current Ownership?

Since the December 2025 ownership change, Earth Care has worked to increase transparency and reduce the risk of misunderstandings.

Changes and improvements include:

  • Clearer explanations of the $47 activation fee

  • Clear disclosures that jobs and earnings are not guaranteed

  • A free Job Checker

  • A 30-day opportunity guarantee for qualifying professionals

  • Expanded professional tools and resources

  • S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training materials

  • Estimating, invoicing, expense, and mileage tools

  • Worker networking groups

  • A curated opportunity center

  • Access to five independent job boards

  • The Earth Care Trade News Center

  • U.S.-based telephone support

  • The ability to request additional information before joining

The goal is to help applicants understand the platform and decide whether it fits their needs before paying.

Earth Care’s Response to Scam Allegations

Earth Care disputes allegations that it is a scam or that it intentionally accepts activation fees without providing a platform or services.

Earth Care provides approved professionals with real access to contractor tools, training, business resources, networking, opportunity information, independent job boards, and support.

Earth Care also clearly states what it cannot promise. It does not guarantee:

  • Employment

  • A particular job

  • Customer selection

  • A minimum number of opportunities

  • A fixed number of hours

  • A specific level of income

An unsuccessful or disappointing experience does not automatically establish fraud. At the same time, Earth Care understands why someone may be frustrated if the platform does not produce the results they hoped for.

That is why applicants are encouraged to check their area, ask questions, review the terms, and understand the guarantee before joining.

Is Earth Care Responsible for Paying Professionals?

Clients generally pay professionals directly. Earth Care does not normally collect, hold, or distribute a professional’s client earnings.

Because the professional and client handle direct payment, Earth Care does not take a percentage from those payments.

Professionals should confirm the payment amount, method, project scope, material responsibilities, and other important details before accepting an opportunity.

As independent contractors, professionals are responsible for managing their own:

  • Taxes

  • Transportation

  • Tools

  • Insurance

  • Licensing

  • Qualifications

  • Business expenses

  • Customer agreements

Does Earth Care Require Additional Purchases?

Earth Care’s standard platform activation fee is $47 paid once. Earth Care does not charge professionals separately for every opportunity alert or require a recurring monthly Earth Care membership payment.

Independent professionals may have normal business expenses involving tools, supplies, fuel, insurance, licensing, equipment, or transportation. These expenses depend on the work the professional chooses to perform.

Professionals should request written clarification before purchasing any optional product or service they do not understand. No optional purchase should be mistaken for a guarantee of future work or income.

How Can an Earth Care Professional Resolve a Complaint?

Earth Care encourages professionals to contact support directly when they have a concern.

When contacting support, provide:

  • Your full name

  • Your professional identification number, if available

  • The email address used for your account

  • The date of your activation payment

  • A clear description of the problem

  • Relevant opportunity or customer information

  • Copies of receipts or communications

  • The resolution you are requesting

Providing complete information helps Earth Care investigate the specific account and respond more effectively.

What Should Applicants Do Before Joining Earth Care?

Applicants can reduce misunderstandings by taking a few practical steps before paying:

  1. Use the free Job Checker.

  2. Select only service categories you are qualified and willing to perform.

  3. Choose a realistic travel radius.

  4. Ask Earth Care whether it currently serves your general area.

  5. Read the platform terms and 30-day opportunity guarantee.

  6. Understand that the $47 fee activates platform access but does not purchase employment.

  7. Save a copy of the terms and payment receipt.

  8. Ask questions about anything you do not understand.

  9. Decide whether the platform tools and resources have value to you in addition to opportunity alerts.

  10. Avoid relying on any single marketplace as your only source of income.

Earth Care wants professionals to join with realistic expectations rather than believing they are purchasing a guaranteed job.

The Bottom Line on Earth Care Complaints

Some Earth Care complaints describe genuine dissatisfaction. A professional may have expected more opportunities, faster results, a different onboarding experience, or projects that better matched their preferences.

Earth Care does not claim that every professional will have the same experience or decide that the platform is right for them.

However, Earth Care disputes allegations that it is a scam. The company provides an active platform with contractor tools, training, business resources, opportunity information, networking, independent job boards, and support.

The key facts are:

  • The activation fee is $47 paid once.

  • It is not a recurring monthly Earth Care membership fee.

  • The fee provides platform and resource access.

  • It does not purchase a guaranteed job.

  • Clients generally pay professionals directly.

  • Earth Care does not take a percentage of direct client payments.

  • Opportunity availability varies.

  • Customer selection and earnings are not guaranteed.

  • One completed opportunity may recover the entire activation fee.

  • Qualifying professionals are protected by a 30-day opportunity guarantee.

  • Earth Care came under new ownership and management in December 2025.

Prospective professionals should evaluate the platform based on the current terms, current resources, their location, service categories, availability, and personal business goals.

Frequently Asked Questions About Earth Care Complaints

Why does Earth Care have complaints?

Complaints can result from different expectations, limited opportunity volume in a particular area, customer selection, scheduling conflicts, declined projects, or dissatisfaction with the platform. Some complaints also concern periods before the December 2025 ownership change.

Does Earth Care ignore complaints?

No. Current management reviews complaints and encourages professionals to contact support with their account information, relevant communications, and requested resolution.

Is Earth Care a scam?

No. Earth Care disputes scam and fraud allegations. It is an independent-contractor platform providing tools, training, business resources, networking, job-board access, opportunity information, and professional support.

Why do some people say they paid but received no work?

Paying the activation fee does not guarantee customer selection or a completed job. Opportunity volume and results vary based on location, categories, availability, travel radius, qualifications, customer demand, and other factors.

What does the $47 activation fee cover?

The fee supports onboarding and continued access to the Earth Care platform, contractor tools, S.A.F.E.T.E.C.H. training resources, business resources, networking groups, independent job boards, trade news, opportunity information, and support.

Is the $47 fee a monthly payment?

No. The current $47 Earth Care activation fee is paid once.

Does Earth Care guarantee jobs?

No. Earth Care does not guarantee employment, customer selection, a particular job, opportunity volume, working hours, or earnings.

Why can’t Earth Care take the fee from my first job?

Clients generally pay professionals directly. Earth Care does not issue a traditional paycheck or control those direct payments, so there is no future Earth Care paycheck from which to deduct the fee.

Does Earth Care take a percentage of professional earnings?

Earth Care does not take a percentage of money clients pay directly to professionals.

Can applicants check for work before paying?

Yes. Applicants can use the free Job Checker, submit an application without paying, ask questions, and request general information about their area before activating an account.

Does the Job Checker guarantee work?

No. It indicates general service-area and opportunity availability. It does not guarantee a specific project, customer selection, hours, or earnings.

What is the 30-day opportunity guarantee?

A qualifying new professional may be eligible for a refund of the activation fee if no qualifying opportunities become available during the initial 30-day period. The approved location, categories, travel radius, and complete guarantee terms apply.

Can a refund be denied if opportunities were available?

Yes. A professional may not qualify for a refund when qualifying opportunities existed but were declined because of preferences, scheduling, travel, availability, or a change of mind.

Did Earth Care change ownership?

Yes. Earth Care came under new ownership and management in December 2025. Some online complaints describe experiences that predate that change.

What if Earth Care is not right for me?

Professionals are not required to make Earth Care their primary source of work. One completed opportunity may repay the activation fee, and professionals may retain access to platform resources and future opportunities, subject to the terms and account eligibility.

How can I file an Earth Care complaint?

Contact Earth Care support with your name, account email, professional identification number if available, payment date, relevant records, a clear description of the concern, and the resolution you are requesting.
